Well I don’t have beta access yet so I can’t post on the beta forums but this seems like an incredibly sad change.īarely anyone plays pvp, it’s always been wildly unbalanced anyways, and offscreen kills have always been a huge part of both pvp and pve. I’m not sure how many are aware of that, you have to play in windowed mode to get the same performance as someone playing on the same size playable screen that ultrawide users do. The entire screen is still being rendered by the game even behind the black bars, which gives anyone with an ultrawide monitor a disadvantage and less frames by default. I’m not saying that its ‘unplayble’ with black bars, but you have to realize if you play this in fullscreen mode with the black bars IT CUTS YOUR FRAMERATE IN HALF. While also accommodating the small crowd of people with ultrawide monitors. It isn’t an issue of black and white, there are obvious steps that could be made to make sure that the PVP crowd is happy and everyone clawing their way through the ladder grind has a balanced and fair experience. So, make ultrawide mode offline only, make it non ladder only, simply removing an already existing feature without giving any word is the worst decision they could have made. I think no matter how large or small some want to argue the advantage is, there definitely is one. Is this game nearly 20 years old? Yes, but that doesn’t change the fact that there are easy solutions to this ‘balance’ problem with ultrawide that Blizzard simply was too lazy to want to implement.

Not only is that just bad consumer practice, its also begging for controversy. Last updated at 14:00:17 UTC Weekly Help Desk RAGE Loot Thread Trade Threadīlizzard only made this problem worse by adding it in, and then taking ultrawide support right back out without saying anything.
